We have officially selected the journalists and researchers that will be funded to participate at AMWAJ Forum, 28-30 October.

Thank you for all for your application to participate at AMWAJ Forum. We really appreciate your interest in joining our community and we want to thank you for the time and energy you invested in your application.

The Forum will gather some of the most imaginative minds across the Mediterranean to exchange ideas, share experiences and best practices for regional development.

What are our objectives?

To contribute to educating the next generation of leaders in sustainable development around the Mediterranean and Middle East.
To build awareness of the value of natural resources around world, particularly amongst young professionals in local and regional media, education, and politics.
To empower a new generation of reporters, experts and decision-makers with the knowledge and skills to understand and communicate key aspects of water issues.
To bridge the gap between science, policy-making and society and contribute to the development of new discourses in the domain of water.
To equip them with the media and communication skills to do that;
To encourage them to apply these skills in their professional and personal lives to affect societal behavior positively;
To influence policy-making constructively and to pass on the knowledge and skills they acquire with Revolve to the next generation by taking ownership of their destiny.

Who is eligible to apply?

Eligible participants will be selected on the basis of the following eligibility and selection criteria, to be fulfilled by the deadline for applications:

 

• You must have between 20 and 35 years old;
• You must be a citizen of one of the 43 UfM Member States.
• You must be an employee of a media outlet in your country (newspaper, magazine, radio, TV, recognized digital publication) or be able to show proof of continuous freelance journalism activities during the past three years.
• You must have open and ongoing activities and/or projects in one of the areas tackled by the Forum;
• You must have background knowledge and experience in the SDGs, international youth work and regional cooperation projects;
• You must be able to work and communicate in English;
• You must play an active role in communicating the triple bottom line of sustainability (social, environmental, economic), and plan to continue this work in the near future;
• You must be able to attend the whole duration of the activity.

 

The selection process will seek gender and geographical balance.

Please note that only shortlisted applications will be contacted, and that due to the large number of applications, individual requests will not be addressed unless those seeking assistance for the application process.

What do we offer?

REVOLVE offer journalists from Meditarranean countries the opportunity to participate at AMWAJ Forum in Barcelona, 29 – 30 October – the leading global conference to discuss sustainable development and communications from diverse perspectives.

What we cover:

• Round-trip air ticket to Barcelona, Spain Arrival day is 28 October 2018 (After 14:00) and departure day is in the afternoon of the 30 October 2018 from the Barcelona Airport.
• Invite to AMWAJ
• Hotel stay during AMWAJ
• Meals on half board during AMWAJ
• Per diem for meals not provided at AMWAJ venue

AMWAJ does not Cover:

• Visa, and visa-related costs
• Any insurance
• Transport in Barcelona (excluding public transport to and from Barcelona airport)
• Any extras
